Walruses, Please

If we must have creatures grown fat,
Feeding from the bottoms,
Having nothing particular
To do or say, why can't we have
Walruses? I'd much prefer them
To these Senate men in slick suits
Who wallow as ice melts
And temperatures rise
And reason and decency
Are overwhelmed.
