Wall of the World

If I could find a wall of the world
And stand with my back to it
And press, not hard,
And open the lattice of my body
In just the right way,
Is there a quantum’s chance
I might slip through
And leave the weight of myself behind?

I’ve retired after a career teaching law. I divide my time now between Athens, Georgia, in the States and the south coast of Ireland.
